<image:caption>“We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” Walt Disney Why did you open that door when you came to it? Did you eagerly run through it or were you cautious? Or are you still sitting debating on whether to open the door or not? We have all come across doors in our life that we need to make a decision, what do we do. If the door is closed, do we open it, do we go in? What is stopping you from opening that door and going inside? Fear is the main reason people do not go to the unknown. If you don’t open the door, will you look back and regret it? So many decisions to make when we come across a doors in our path. What door do you take?</image:caption>

      <image:title>Through the Door - The Journey</image:title>
<image:caption>It’s not the destination, but the journey to get there. Looking back at your journey, you can see the winding path that you took to get where you are. You may not have liked or enjoyed every twist and turn, but that path has led you here. Where your journey is going to take you depends on the path you take. Each path will take you in different directions, and they may or may not end at the same destination. When you choose a path to take do you have a destination in mind or do you just wander? Sometimes getting lost may be a good thing.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Through the Door - Into The Woods</image:title>
<image:caption>Obsessed by a fairytale, we spend our lives searching for a magic door and a lost kingdom of peace—Eugene O’Neil The door is a symbol of a barrier preventing us from moving forward. When it is closed it is mysterious, we wonder what is on the other side. We want to open the door and see what it is hiding. A closed door holds unlimited potential, anything could be on the other side. What lengths would we go to if we really wanted to open that door? Some open easily while others are locked. Do we try to open that locked door? Some doors are wide open, inviting us in. These doors are less mysterious because we can see the other side. We can see what lies ahead for us, but they could be just as magical.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“I used to dream of being other places, other people. It was an escape for me.” Lauren Bacall Adventure. Escape. These are words that came to mind when I created this image. Sometimes, we need to escape from the world we are in. Maybe it’s something bad. Maybe it’s boredom. Maybe it’s just to gain a new perspective. Other times, we look forward to something new. Somewhere new. An adventure that will not only help “recharge the batteries” but make us happy or fulfilled. Maybe, it’s just to gain a new perspective. Not all who wander are lost but I think all who wander are looking for something.</image:caption>

<image:title>Through the Door - Where will you go?</image:title>
<image:caption>“If you don’t know where you are going any road can take you there”—Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland Do you know where you are going? Sometimes it is hard to imagine where the path will take us. But should that stop us from doing something we never did before? It doesn’t seem realistic to crawl into a large hole in a tree. You expect not to see more then bugs inside. But what if it was a magical opening to another world, a world where your imagination takes over, would you go inside? I would! I would run to see what my imagination could create and show it to the world. I do that every time I create a new image. I am bringing you into my world. <image:caption>“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”—Roald Dahl I don’t believe in magic, do you? I am a concrete over an abstract person. You must be wondering how can I create the images I do if I am a concrete person. My images are meant to take you into a world that does not exist in the ordinary world. But you may wonder why or how do I create them if I don’t believe in magic. These worlds exist in my imagination, in my relaxation state of mind. Did you think about how magical the world felt? Or did you grow up with snow and it was just something that happened every winter? Some people have not experienced snow while growing up and experienced their first snowstorm when they are older. What they experience is magical. <image:caption>I see your true colors And that’s why I love you—Cindi Lauper True Colors—To show what one is really like-To reveal one’s real nature or character. Do you show your true colors to people? I never hide who I really am. You need to accept me for who I am to be in my life. I am snarky, direct, opinionated, loving and caring. Believe it or not, I am also very silly at times. My husband and daughter have great senses of humor and make me laugh. I don’t make them laugh very often, but when I do, they say it’s really funny.
As my family will tell you, I have the biggest and best RBF you have ever seen. I don’t know why but I do. It can put people off but when you get past it, you will realize that’s how my face is sometime. I have people in my life who love me for who I am. I don’t change or pretend to be someone I am not for anyone. So I ask again, do you show your true colors or do you hide them? Don’t be afraid to let them show.</image:caption>

Aren’t we a Phoenix? We have all heard “New Year/Day new you”. That is what the Phoenix does, it reinvents itself when it is reborn. We can also reinvent ourselves.. <image:caption>“And she’s buying a stairway to heaven”—Led Zeppelin While the song may be about greed in society and looking back at your life at death, this is not the reason I created this image. I created this image because for some reason this song was stuck in my mind for weeks. I had to get this song and the image that came to mind out of my head. Maybe having the song in my head for so long was the universe telling me what to create, if you believe that. I don’t know. I do know that I created a beautiful image that I felt at the time. <image:caption>“My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.”—Claude Monet Mother Nature has given us so much beauty. We need to take a moment to appreciate it. Listen to the sound of the water, watch a sunrise or sunset. Just sit and listen. I love sitting outside early in the morning and listening to the birds wake up. They are so cheerful as the sun is rising. It’s like they are saying good morning to everyone. If you take the time and sit in one place long enough, you may be surprised at what Mother Nature has to show and tell you.</image:caption>

It can be beautiful, relaxing, comforting, deadly, and is needed to sustain life. Without water Earth would resemble Mars. A woman is just as powerful as water. She is beautiful, comforting, deadly, creates life, and without her the Earth would not be the same as it is today.</image:caption>

The winds can change in seconds, a womans mood can change faster. She is unstoppable and can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. Some women simply become it”—RH Sin Angry, beautiful, brutal, catastrophic, cozy, dangerous, explosive, fierce, heavenly, magical, merciless, romantic, small, unexpected, warm, wondrous. All different ways to describe a fire but you could also describe a woman the same way. Some women embrace the power within them. Letting it out when they need to be strong and fierce. But also keeping it tamed when they want to be loving and warm. Others shrink away from that power, afraid to let voice and feeling be heard. I feel we need to open up, let it out and learn the control our power as a woman and show our fierce side when needed.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Running away was easy; not knowing what to do next was the hard part.” Glenda Millard What makes us run away? A horrible boss drove me over the edge and I quit my job after 17 years. Was that running away? Was running away easier than the unknown? Or was running into the darkness the lesser of two evils? I see people running into the unknown because they think the grass is greener. I hope they are right and find their happiness. Why do we run? What is so horrible that we are running from that makes running into the darkness the better choice?</image:caption>

      <image:title>New Gallery - Innocence</image:title>
<image:caption>All things truly wicked start from innocence—Ernest Hemingway Even at birth some religions feel we have original sins that need to be washed away. So the question stands are we or were we ever innocent? Do we just learn our wicked ways? And how wicked are we really? Is having wicked ways really bad? Or are they just perceived as bad? Someone who you perceive as standoffish could just be shy, but you perceive them in a negative way. Do those things make people wicked?By definition wicked: Morally very bad; Evil. Innocence: Freedom from guilt or sin Are we/were we ever truly innocent and/or truly wicked?</image:caption>

<image:title>New Gallery - The Dark Cloud Follows Me</image:title>
<image:caption>“Be still, sad heart! and cease repining: Behind the clouds is the sun still shining: Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall, Some days must be hard and dreary.”—Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Misery and rain seem to go hand in hand just like depression and darkness. When we are dealing with a hard time in our life, we tend to forget that the sun is still shining. We see this now more than any other time in recent history. More people are struggling. People feel isolated and alone. These are challenging times, for sure. Those days are coming. We need to look beyond the dark cloud and rain and see the sunshine that is right behind them. Let’s get through this storm…together.</image:caption>

      <image:title>New Gallery - Calm Amongst the Chaos</image:title>
<image:caption>“Calm mind brings inner strength and self-confidence, so that's very important for good health.” —Dalai Lama Chaos surrounds us everywhere; work, social media, news and so many more that I will not name. But how you manage the stress is important. Taking the time to unplug from the stress of life. I find going for a drive relaxes me, but everyone has a different outlet. I have heard people say that they were stuck in the house for the most of the year. I wasn’t, but I still stayed isolated with my family. I have seen and explored more of Arizona this year then I ever had. We made the best of trying times. I hope you are able to find the calm among the chaos like I have.</image:caption>

      <image:title>New Gallery - Getting Lost in a Book</image:title>
<image:caption>“I think that when you can escape into a book it trains your imagination to think big and to think that more can exist than what you see.”—Taylor Swift There are many ways to escape reality and many people do. Do you escape reality and get taken to another place or world? I daydream, but I know many people that will lose themselves in a book. A good book will transport you somewhere. You can become part of the story or just a passive observer. It allows you to build the image in your mind of what the author is trying to convey. People can read the same thing but see very different images. I want my images to inspire you to create a story.</image:caption>

<image:title>New Gallery - The Many Faces of Me</image:title>
<image:caption>“The human face is, after all, nothing more nor less than a mask.” Agatha Christie There is a Japanese saying that states you have three faces. One you show the world, one you show close friends and family. And the last you never show anyone and it is your truest reflection of who you are. Do you wear a mask? Do you wear a different mask for different reasons? Do you have more than one mask? I do. I have a mask I wear at work, a mask for my family and people I love, a mask for situations that I feel uncomfortable in. I probably have more. What mask is the real me? If I wear multiple masks will there be a time that I will forget who I really am?</image:caption>

      <image:title>New Gallery - Take a Deeper Look Inside</image:title>
<image:caption>“Whether I’m wearing lots of makeup or no makeup, I’m always the same person inside”—Lady Gaga Why do we as women constantly try to compare our external image with that which society feels we should look? We tear ourselves apart trying to conform all while depression, loneliness and self-hatred set in. Why do we let society define beauty? We can’t all look like the girl in the magazine. We don’t have someone using photoshop on us in the real world. Why can’t we accept ourselves? If you look deep inside yourself you will see who you truly are as opposed to what you project on the outside. If, on the inside are you beautiful, then show it. Let the world see who you really are.</image:caption>

      <image:title>New Gallery - The End</image:title>
<image:caption>“This is the end Beautiful friend This is the end My only friend The end” By the Doors Is it really the end or a new beginning? Even Jim Morrison said that every time he heard the song it meant something different depending on what was happening in his life. When I first imagined this image it had a very different dark feel to it. What changed? Probably things that were going on in my life. So why not embrace the end and jump head first to a new beginning? Leave the past behind and look forward to the future. “Can you picture what will be? So limitless and free”</image:caption>

      <image:title>New Gallery - Time</image:title>
<image:caption>“Ain’t nobody got time for that”.——Sweet Brown I know you will remember who she is, just google it. Time, what is time? Why do we say that we don’t have time to do something? There are 24 hours; or 1440 minutes; or 86400 seconds in a day. That is a lot of time to do something but we still say that we don’t have time. What if we change what we say? What if we said “that is not a priority for me”? A simple change of verbiage might just change your outlook on time, it did for me. I try not to rush, I try to stop and smell the roses now. I am trying to stop and see the beauty around me.</image:caption>

By creating an image like this and explaining why I did, maybe just one person will also find a way to help bring this issue to the forefront. In 2019 there was a 19% increase YOY of reported cases and 11,500 Human Trafficking situations were identified. I have read survivor stories, it is heartbreaking. Women from the Philippines thinking that they are getting a chance to make a life in the United States by “working” for a family to find they just willingly became a slave. The accounts I read tell of horrible conditions they are forced to endure. All the while afraid to ask one person for help.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Trapped - The Key</image:title>
<image:caption>“If you wait, all that happens is that you get older.”— Mario Andretti Waiting, so many of us wait for the perfect opportunity in order to make a change in their life. Why are you waiting? Most people are scared of change or even scared of what will happen if we make our opinions known. Waiting for the perfect time. Waiting for tomorrow but tomorrow never comes. Why should we wait for someone to come and turn the key and tell us it is time to act when we could rip that key out and take that step forward. You never know what could be waiting for you if you just take that chance and stop waiting to act.</image:caption>
